Unemployment Crisis for Doctors
Many of you subscribed may be worried about the ongoing unemployment crisis for Doctors. It is a difficult time for most healthcare professionals at this time. However, inevitably, they will always need healthcare professionals to run society. People retire, become unwell or quit altogether.
The NHS is always under pressure due to the lack of government funding and proper management. A lot of money is wasted on procurement and the inability to retain staff. People leave, whether it's private work or a new field. This means jobs do open up, but unfortunately, the places that do open up are at slightly higher positions requiring experience.
This creates an issue where people who have just graduated cannot get jobs to get the experience to take that role, and that role is having to be recruited from abroad. This cycle then continues.
What can you do to prevent yourself from being in that situation?
Firstly, make sure you are saving money throughout university. It is important you use the money you save to learn new skills which can be used in private practice. This could be by taking courses in minor surgery or in ear wax cleaning, and more. The more skills you can acquire, the more hireable you can become. At one point, you can then use the experience from the job to run your own business in healthcare instead.
I have put a link below to an article I wrote a few years back, which highlights how to build your wealth.
